The cooling trend begins in Southern California today

We have been talking about a cooldown for a few days now and it's finally here! An area with low pressure cut off from the jet stream and begins to approach California. While this system is still a few hundred miles west of the coast, it has already started to merge the moisture of the upper level into the region, which today offers us additional cloud cover. That, mixed with the cooler air connected to the system, has now led to significantly cooler temperatures.

Santa Ana's winds have slowly removed all day long because the low -pressure system dominates our weather instead of the high pressure. The conditions are still very dry on the surface. However, we can already see a good amount of moisture of the upper level above the area. The depth will move across the region quite slowly. We pursue some chances of light rain west of the mountains from Friday evening to Saturday, but only a few effects are expected for the Coachella Valley. We were able to expect a few drops over the mountains.

We obviously follow the above -mentioned cooling trend into the weekend. On Sunday/Monday there will be another low pressure system on the west coast. This will give a further increase in cooling and on Monday to the coolest day in the lowest 70s on Monday. The heights remain for next week in the 70s. Occasionally expect occasional clouds in the coming days.
