Sacramento, California – The police authority of Elk Grove released the Body CAM film material on Thursday after an official killed a man in Sacramento at the beginning of February.

The chase started in Elk Grove around 11:45 p.m. on February 1st and ended with a fatal shootout in Sacramento in 69th Street and the Lemon Hill Avenue.

Elk Grove's police said she tried to stop Jonnie Bartholomew, who drove a Ford Explorer without a license plate near the southern part of Sacramento County. A chase began and at some point Bartholomew allegedly fired shots on officers and met a patrol car.

He tried to make a U-turn in 69th Street and Lemon Hill, but an ELK Grove officer rammed his patrol car into the Bartholomew vehicle when another officer left her vehicle.

Both officers fired their weapons in Bartholomew and he was hit. A weapon was recovered when the officers removed it from the vehicle to provide medical help, but he finally died at the scene.

A female passenger in his vehicle was unharmed. No officers or MPs were injured during the chase or shooting.

Since the chase has taken place in the city of Sacramento, the Sacramento Police Department will continue to examine. The Sacramento County's Sheriff office separately examines the patrol vehicle, which is hit by the suspect's shot fire.

The officers of the Elk Grove police authority, who were involved in the shootout, were put on administrative leave, according to officials.
