How to save Facebook live videos before they are deleted

Columbus, Ohio (WCMH) – Facebook has announced that it will change its live video function that affects millions of users.

Details about the update, published in Facebook's newsroom, showed that live videos created by the users remain on your page or 30 days only 30 days after publication. During this time, live videos can be shared as clips or rollers. The videos can also be deleted or downloaded by the user.

“After 30 days, you can no longer access your video and it is automatically removed from your page or profile and deleted by META servers,” Facebook wrote.

The change began on February 19 and the users are made aware of an e -mail if it is activated in their account. At this point, people lose all videos that are published for more than 30 days after the notification.

“As soon as they are notified, they have 90 days to download their live videos or transfer them to cloud storage,” Facebook wrote. “If you need more time, you can move the deletion for 6 months.”

The social media giant also found that users can only shift the deletion of live videos once. When six months are passed, past live videos are scrubbed.

If an account is remembered, no media will be deleted, Facebook said. Friends and family of the deceased person will not see any changes to the previously shared content.

Facebook recommended several ways to save previously recorded live videos, including:

• Create a file with all live videos that can be downloaded to a device or a cloud memory.
• Download one or more live videos from one page or profile activity protocol.
• Downloading a single live video from a profile, page or a meta -business suite.

Download a live video from your profile or page

1. Go to your profile from a computer. Switch to the page from which you want to download a video and then go to your page.
2. Find the “Videos” tab in a profile. Find the tab live on one page. Note: You may have to click more to display the tab live.
3. Click here to select the video you want to download.
4. Open the full screen view, then click Options and select Download the video. Your video will be downloaded automatically. If the download does not start, update the page and try again.

Download a live video from Meta Business Suite

If your live video has been published on one page, you can download it from the Meta Business Suite:

1. Go to Meta Business Suite.
2. Select content in the main menu.
3. Below posts and roles you will find the live video that you want to download.
4. Click Options to display further options for your video and then select SD or download HD.

Your video will be downloaded automatically. If the download does not start, update the page and try again.

Download live videos from your activity protocol:

1. Go to attitudes and privacy.
2. Choose activity protocol.
3. Choose live videos.
4. Find the video you want to download, then select Options next to it and select Download.
