Ole Miss College Student Family Slam 'categorically false' viral rumors

The student of the University of Mississippi, Mary Kate Cornett, and her father in viral rumors who accuse her of inappropriate behavior in her personal life.

This week Cornett was the center of unfounded speculations that have widened. It denies speculation as “categorically wrong”.

In a statement on Facebook on Thursday, February 27, Cornett's father Justin Cornett described the “defaming cyber attack”, “categorically wrong, malignant” and “organized”.

“It was administered publicly and our family was forced to take protective measures to ensure their security,” he wrote.

Justin added that he submitted police reports to Oxford, Miss., The Campus Police of the University of Mississippi and the FBI. They also work with forensic experts to “find the perpetrators”.

People contacted the university for a comment.

A spokesman for the police authority in Oxford confirmed to the persons that there was an open examination of the incident, but refused to continue commenting.

“At this stage we suspect that this is a kind of fraternity that has been out of control,” continued Justin in his statement. “I refuse to target my family and am fully obliged to pursue all the available criminals and civil actions. We will find them for those responsible.”
