A tourist disappeared from Florida 2 years ago. His remains have just been found in Georgia

Jacksonville, Fla. – According to the FBI, the body of a British tourist who disappeared over two years ago after a taxi ride in Florida was finally discovered across the border in Georgia.

In an release, the investigators said that the tourist die 32-year-old Alex Doughty-in September 2022 visited Nordflorida. When his mother contacted the local police and reported that she could not reach him and was concerned about his well -being.

Since then, the investigators have contributed to the search for their whereabouts at local, state and federal level.

According to the report of a missing person of LBT Global, Doughty was last seen on September 11, 2022 at the Bay Street Bar and Grill along the East Bay Street in Jacksonville.

“Then he got into a taxi that dropped him in Kingsland, Georgia around 4:30 p.m.,” the report said. “He hasn't been seen since then.”

But on February 4, Doughthy's remains in a forest area in private land near Kingsland in Georgia, the FBI officers announced.

“While we were hoping to bring the family of Mr. Doughty better news, we are grateful that we are able to create a closure for them,” said Special Agent Kristin Rähler. “This discovery is the direct result of our partnerships and special agents from the mobile communications survey of FBI Jacksonville, which in their efforts to narrow down potential searches, were relentless.”

The investigators added that despite the search results, the Doughty family extended thanks to the volunteers and law enforcement officers who pursued Dowhty's whereabouts.
