The Wilde Gregg Popovich history of the former NBA champion becomes viral

Old old stories by Gregg Popovich never seem to disappoint.

Sometimes she details a happy dinner or the proud love of the trainer about the wine (and share), but sometimes you paint a rougher picture of a Hall of famer who is not a stranger for hard love.

Vernon Maxwell experienced the latter.

The long -standing guard was moved into the Denver Nuggets in 1989 before he was immediately traded to the San Antonio Spurs, where he spent his first two seasons. In 1991 Maxwell's rights to the Houston Rockets were sold. He spent several seasons there before returning to San Antonio for the 1996/97 season.

On the way he found his way into a sufficient number of clubs. Popovich didn't say that very much.

“Hey man, no longer go out (go more),” said Maxwell and remembered an interaction with Popovich about an appearance on the whole smoke. “If you keep going while you are here, I'll get rid of you.”

Incidentally, the trainer was not a jokes. Popovich hired a private detective to examine Maxwell's pitch because he gets into fights in fights.

“He never says that he would give me a damn PI,” said Maxwell.

As soon as it happened again, Popovich carried out his threat. Maxwell was called in Popovich's office and immediately surrendered to pack his locker. He might not be derived that day, but that was his last season in San Antonio when he moved to Orlando in the low season.

That was all she wrote.
