Iberdrola (Spain) increases the profits in 2024 that are driven by record investments

Iberdrola has reported an increase in net profit by 17%and achieved a profit of EUR 5.6 billion (before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) for 2024, which is due to record investments of € 17 billion (+50%), including 12 billion euros in organic investments (+5%) and 5BN for company transactions (ENW and Avangrid). The United States and Great Britain received 70% of the company's investment. Iberdrola's investments focused on networks (EUR 11.2 billion, mainly in the USA and Great Britain) and renewable energies (EUR 5.5 billion), whereby in 2024 2.6 GW was added and its project pipeline was expanded to over 44 GW. Iberdrola assigned projects in the construction project of EUR 9.2 billion, 80% of which are commissioned in 2025 and 2026. Iberdrola expects the net profit in 2025 and plans to maintain its focus on networks and selective renewable projects.

In 2024, Iberdrola had an installed capacity of 56.7 GW (-9.9%), including 31.8 GW in Spain (+3.1%), and generated 132.5 TWh of electricity (-21%), of which 62 TWh were in Spain (+1.3%). The group delivered 99 TWh of electricity (-1.9%) and 40.6 TWh gas (-5.9%) to 31.5 million customers worldwide. In Spain it provided 87.5 TWh of electricity (+1.4%) and 22.1 TWh gas (-11%) to 23.2 million customers (+4.5%).
