Mourinho receives the four-match ban for 'Monkeys' comment, referee criticism

Fenerbahçe coach José Mourinho was suspended for four games and punished by the Turkish Football Association (TFF) with a fine of more than 40,000 euros, after a tense Ambul derby against Galatasaray, which reported on Thursday.

After the 0-0 draw on Monday, 62-year-old Mourinho said that the home bank had jumped “like monkeys” and reports his criticism of Turkish referees.

Fenerbahçe defended Mourinho and said that his comments were out of context.

The TFF disciplinary council gave a two-game ban on its comments on the fourth official and another two games for its comments on the Galatasaray Bank, decided “against sporting ethics”.

Mourinho, whose team follows the Leader Leader Galatasaray with six points, was also fined with a fine of just more than 42,000 euros.
