Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Start Date Leaks to make debut on April 15th

Samsung has finally determined a date for the complete unveiling of his highly expected Galaxies-S25 edge. According to a new report by a South Korean publication, the device will be officially launched on April 16. Due to the time zone differences, the event could take place on April 15 in some regions. The start will probably only be online and mark the debut of the thinnest member of the Samsung flagship galaxy S25 series.

The Galaxy S25 Edge was first annoyed in January at Samsung's unpacked event, in which the company also presented the rest of the Galaxy S25 family. While the details at that time were scarce, the latest report illuminates Samsung's strategy. The company wants to launch Apple on the super-thin smartphone market. Apple has long been launching an Ultra Slim iPhone 17-air in September, which is thinner as a 6.4 mm frame of the S25 Edge. However, it is expected that the iPhone 17 air only has a reversing camera compared to the dual camera setup on the S25 edge.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to come onto the market in May, with color options such as light blue, black and silver. Interestingly, Samsung's initial production run should be limited to only 40,000 units – a surprisingly small number that raises questions about the company's trust in the success of the model. To put this in the right light, it makes less than 1 percent of Samsung's monthly smartphone production.

With regard to the specifications, the Galaxy S25 edge should contain a 200 megapixel-primary riding riding camera and a 50-megapixel-ultra-wide lens. It is driven by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and is expected to be rated between the Galaxy S25 and the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: Design, Build and additional details

In addition to the start date, the recent leaks and reports have given more insights into the design and build of the Galaxy S25 Edge. Some rumors have even pointed out that the phone is even thinner than previously assumed, which weighs only 5.84 mm thick and less than 162 g. This has made it the thinnest and lightest Samsung phone for years.

According to reports, the frame of the Galaxy S25 edge is made of aluminum, while the back is expected to have ceramics instead of glass or plastic. Ceramic is known for its scratch resistance, although it is also brittle and heavier. Some reports indicate that Samsung could choose a hybrid material, e.g.

The front design of the Galaxy S25 Edge should be almost identical to the Galaxy S25+with a similar screen size. On the back, however, only two cameras differs instead of the three on the Galaxy S25+.

Under the bonnet, the Galaxy S25 Edge reports reported the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, as confirmed by a recently listed Geekbench list. The device achieved 2,806 in single core and 8.416 in multi-core tests. It is also delivered with 12 GB RAM and Android 15 with Samsung's One UI 7 is executed. A potential problem is the relatively small 3,900 -MAH battery of the device, which may have difficulty handling with the powerful chipset and the slim design. Heat throttling could also be a problem because the limited inner space for heat discharge is limited.
