The Sportsplex -Upgrades from Alexandria could start next year during this time

Alexandria Bay, New York (WWNY) – The planned sports complex of the city of Alexandria has seen a lot of support from the public.

After more than a dozen scholarship applications had increased empty, the officials had to return to the drawing board for the project to renovate the city's existing municipal arena.

“It was time for us to look at a new plan with which we would feel comfortable without the help of grants,” said Shawn Thomas.

Now a proposal by the project engineer Andrew Garlock can do that. It has shrunk the planned addition from 10,000 square foot of up to 5000 square feet and retained planned improvements to things such as external, roof and bathroom improvements.

These are just important things he should replace to keep the building into the future, “said Andrew Garlock.

Smarting the encore would reduce the costs in two halves. Now it costs around $ 6.3 million. This becomes the project back on the table.

“I am thrilled. I think as a community member and as an architect for the project, I am happy for the community,” said Garlock.

“I am confident. I think we are now in a much better place than where we were before and we are happy about it, ”said Thomas.

For the time being, Garlock hopes that the construction of the project will start next year at this time. He wants it to be complete in time for the hockey season.
