A clamp on AI-generated images of child abuse that emphasizes urgent legal defects.

Europol announced on Friday that two dozen people were arrested for their participation in a criminal network in which pictures were distributed with the sexual abuse of a-generated children. This operation is one of the first of its kind and shows concerns about the use of AI when creating illegal content. Europol found that there is currently a lack of national legal regulations regarding the child abuse of child abuse.

The main suspect, a Danish citizen, operated an online platform on which he distributed the content of the AI-generated content. Users from all over the world paid a “symbolic online payment” to access the material. The platform has expressed significant concerns about the potential abuse of AI tools for such criminal purposes.

The ongoing operation, in which the authorities from 19 countries are involved, led to 25 arrests, with most of the time performing the Danish authorities on Wednesday. Europol stated that further arrests will be expected in the coming weeks if the examination continues.
