Florida Gymnastics in the hope of recovering against Missouri

The gymnastics team of Florida Gators No. 6 will return home to a matchup against the fourth top 10 opponent this season – No. 8 Missouri. After a tough defeat against No. 1 in Oklahoma last week, the Gators use this clean slate as an opportunity to bounce off.

Last time

It seemed as if everything was stacked against the Gator last week. Anya Pilgrim fell on the management of the bars and hit her head. Finally, she ended her routine, but did not appear on beam when she could be seen. Florida's coach, Jenny Rowland, revealed that Pilgrim was put by brain concealing protocol. Since then she has been published completely and returned to complete training on Wednesday.

Two rotations later, the reigning SEC specialist of the week, Sloane Blakely suffered an injury to the lower leg on the first fall of her floor routine. She immediately hopped off the ground and later appeared on crutches and in a trunk. Rowland said Blakely was still evaluating, but the senior will probably make an announcement on social media in the coming days.

The injuries caused changes in Florida in the final rotation on the beam. The seventeen -year -old Ly Bui and Senior Riley McCusker filled up for pilgrims and Blakely. Unfortunately, both fell, which led to the gators counting a low score. Florida finally fell to the Sooners for a big lead of 1.45 and agreed with the lowest team of the season.

Despite the loss, Rowland is proud of how her team collected.

Turn the side

Despite the heartbreaking events of the last meeting, it is a new week for the Gator. Rowland said the team had the chance to process the emotions of the past week and returned to the gym.

Although Pilgrim is good to go, new faces have to rise in Blakely's absence. Blakely has no longer started in all -round since February 2 due to a concussion she suffered from Florida's trip to Arkansas. Fortunately, this means that other names have been called up in the past few weeks.

Turner like Ellie Lazzari, Gabby Disidore, Alyssa Arana and Skylar Drazer are reinforced.

One of Florida's greatest strengths is the depth of the team. This is something to go to Rowland and the rest of the coaching staff to which the regular season begins.

A look at the tigers

Missouri had a light 197,425-197,350 edge of Georgia No. 12 at home last week. The heaviest rackets of the tiger are Amari Celestine and Helen Hu.

Celestine is the only gymnast that Missouri had in the all-round competition this season. Her latest all-round score was a 39.625 in a tri-meet against Alabama, Illinois and Iowa. Last week she competed in vaults, bars and ground and released all scores by 9.9 or higher.

Helen Hu is Missouris Beam Queen. With eight meetings, the redshirt -Senior created three 9,9750 and a perfect 10.0. She was appointed SEC specialist of the week four times this season, also this week.

Friday evening heights

The gators will host the tigers for the Equality Night in the Stephen C. O'Connell Center on Friday at 5:45 a.m. in the SEC network.
