Football announces in 2025 schedule – Old Dominion Athletics

New Orleans – The 2025 football campaign opened on Saturday, August 30th, in Indiana and is highlighted by home games against Liberty, app State and a matchup at the end of the season with Georgia State when the Sun Belt Conference announced the schedule on Friday morning.

“Our program is looking forward to the opportunity to show this schedule,” said Odu head coach Ricky Rahne. “We have some excellent opponents of Sun Belt who come to SB Ballard, including a great Thursday evening against Troy.”

The monarchs open the season with the 2024 College Football Playoff participant from Indiana, who for the first time in the program history against the Hoosiers. In 2024 the Big 10 Foe won a program record with 11 games, with the only two defeats at the CFP finalists Notre Dame and the state of Ohio.

Odu organizes on Saturday, September 6th, in the Home Opener at SB Ballard Stadium North Carolina Central. The monarchs will play the Eagles for the third time in the program history, but for the first time since 2010. Odu has a 2-0 series in the lead over NCCU, while the Eagles took 8: 3 in the 2024 season.

Old Dominion will be back at Virginia Tech on Saturday, September 13th. The Hokies won in Norfolk last season and headed the all-time series with 4: 2 and won all three games played in Blacksburg.

Odu has a goodbye after the trip to Virginia Tech and then returns home for two in a row on Saturday, September 27th and on Saturday, October 4th.

The meeting in Norfolk will only be the third time that Liberty Odu appears, as the last meetings listed the monarchs 38-24 in 2022. The flames have a 4: 1 series advantage over the monarchs.

Old Dominion organizes CCU on October 4 in a series that is connected to two per piece. Odu won the first two games of the series, including an FCS playoff win in 2012 and the first Sun Belt game between the two schools in 2021, but Coastal won two in a row.

The monarchs then took two games in Marshall and James Madison on the street.

Odu travels to the thundering herd on Saturday, October 11th. Marshall leads the always series 9: 1 and the monarchs have not won in Huntington.

Odu stays on the street on Saturday, October 18 and goes to JMU.

On Saturday, November 1st, the monarchs travel to Ulm to take over the Warhawks for the first time in the program history. Ulm ended 5: 7 in 2024, his best season since 2019.

After a goodbye, the Monarch Troy organized the second season in a row on Thursday, November 13th, which Odu plays a game on Thursday evening, since Odu defeated Georgia Southern 47-19 on Thursday evening last year. The meeting with the Trojans will also be the first Matchup on the rust between the two schools.

The last street competition of Odu of the season is on Saturday, November 22nd, in Statesboro against Georgia Southern. Odu won two in a row against the Eagles after GS won the first three games of the series.

The regular season finale sees the moderator of Old Dominion, Georgia State, to complete the regular season for the second time in three years. In 2023, the monarchs defeated the Panthers in the last game of the game to climb Bowl's authorization. Odu organizes the GSU on Saturday, November 29, to end the regular seasonal camp.
