Kirksville Mann receives a 40-year prison sentence for murdered second degree, armed criminal lawsuit

In the Adair County Circuit Court, a man from the northeast of Missouri owed himself for a changed charges for murdered second degree and avoided legal proceedings that was planned for this week. The declaration of consent was achieved between lawyers who represent both the state and the accused. The original indictment was the first degree.

Brendon Cory Lene was sentenced to 40 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections. He received a 30-year prison sentence for murdered second degree and an additional 10-year prison sentence for armed criminal measures. The chairman ordered that the punishments are delivered one after the other.

The law enforcement officers reported that the murder in Kirksville took place on April 1, 2021. Media reports state that the victim, 49-year-old Jared Newman from Kirksville, died of an attack by Hals.

Lene had a Kirksville address at the time of his arrest.
