'M*A*S*H' ended with a record finals in News

A look back at local, national and global events through Deseret News Archives.

On February 28, 1983, the last episode of the television series “M*A*S*H” was broadcast; Almost 106 million viewers saw the final, which remains the most seized episode of a US television series.

The 2½-hour episode entitled “Goodbye, Farewell and Amen” ended the astonishing run of the show. The show naturally lives in repetitions and binges and digital collections. News reports show that the episode was written by eight employees, including the series star Alan Alda, who was director.

It has been the most than 25 years the most viewed single in television history. Better than “friends”. More than “his field”. It is usually put in the shade by the Super Bowl.

The show was all about the Korean War and the heroicism of the US Mobile Army Surgical Hospital or the Mash Unit 4077. Can you recognize the show song of the show in four grades?

Who was your favorite character? My family loved Radar O'reilly.

What was your favorite episode? The spam lamb. Adams ribs. Every time Col. flag appeared.

The show was popular in Utah and was 5:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. after the KSL messages for many years. Here are some stories from Deseret News Archives about the show and its characters:
