Man who was arrested by Austin after shooting in Chesapeake apartments in the northwest of Austin

The police arrested the 31-year-old Oscar Parker on Wednesday.

Austin, Texas – a man was arrested in an apartment in the northwest of Austin after a shootout, who sent two people to the hospital early Wednesday morning.

According to the Austin Police Department (APD), two people were shot in the Chesapeake Apartments, on Hymeadow Drive, near the US year 183 and the Anderson Mill Road on Wednesday at 12:45 p.m.

APD announced on Friday that they arrested the 31-year-old Oscar Parker in connection with the incident. At this point it is unclear what Parker is charged with.

The neighbors in the complex told Kvue on Wednesday that they were alerted after the shootout. Ritesh Sharma, who lives in the neighborhood, said he and his wife panicked.

“We were just awakened to the noises of the shots and immediately we thought:” We have to go to our son. “So, [we] Run into his room to make sure he is doing well and lies down on him, ”said Sharma.

Sharma fears that the shootout will not be the last and that problems escalate in the apartment complex.

Alex Hilderbrand, who lives from Sharma on the other side of the street, said last year that noise from the apartment complex was the biggest problem.

“Tenants – of course not everyone in the apartment complex, but only a few – will start a block party at noon, which will take until 3 a.m.,” said Hilderbrand.

Hilderbrand also said that rubbish drifts from the parties to their farms and sometimes thrown over the fence of the neighbors like Sharma. They also captured people who ruthlessly drive in the parking lot of the apartment.

“There is a concern about security and crime, right? For the children. It could get worse because it doesn't look like the problem is being properly managed, ”said Hilderbrand.

According to the Hilderbrand, he personally took care of their concerns to the real estate managers of the apartment, the life of the apartment, more than a dozen times, but has not taken any measures. Hilderbrand said he and several other neighbors only want to work with the real estate managers to improve their quality of life.

“I think noise is a main problem and, of course, it escalates that security for tenants of the apartments is a problem. Of course there is afraid that this would also expand into our street in our neighborhood, ”said Hilderbrand.

KVUE turned to RPM living in relation to the concerns of the neighbors, but management still has to react.
