Last day of the Fierklitungsusa Wisconsin regional competition

Menomonia, Wis. (Weau) – Bring the best out in high school. That is the goal of Skillsusa.

The organization organized its 52nd annual regional competence competition on Friday.

Over 200 students from western Wisconsin tried UW-Stout in various commercial capabilities, including robotics, welding, carpentry, photography and much more.

A representative of Skillsusa says that the competition helps the students that there is a value to pursue a career in retail.

“In a technology school, in the trades, it is really important to me that these skills are valued. These competitions, in these great environments in which we can bring hundreds of students so that we can make sure that their skills are valued and their skills are being tested to prepare them for the future, ”said Matthew Varela, the state secondary vice president of Skillsusa.

Those who campaigned in the competition on Friday will be transferred to Madison for the state conference in April, with almost 2,000 students competing.
