Heaved for bank robbery after being shot by officers in Covington

Covington, Ky. –

A suspect in a bank robbery was shot by officials in Covington when the police tried to take him into custody on Friday afternoon.

It happened around 3 p.m. in the 600 block of the Madison Avenue near the Hotel Covington.

The police said that the suspect had issued a weapon in the US bank in the Madison Avenue and shots were fired when the officials tried to arrest him from the bank about a block.

It is not known whether the suspect has fired the first shots.

The suspect was brought to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with serious injuries. No officers were injured at the shootout.

The two leaders involved in the shootout were put on the administrative leave because the investigation continues.

The police said there was no threat to the public.

The shootout is examined by the Kentucky State Police, which corresponds to the state's protocol.

In a contribution to social media on Friday afternoon, Hotel Covington said that access to the building could be limited while the investigation continued.

“Due to an ongoing police investigation outside the property, access to the hotel can be limited.
