The Top Illinois Football Commit is still rising in the national ranking

There is a lot of optimism for the Illinois football program in the future.

In the first 10 victory season since 2001, the Illini continuously had the top 50 recruitment courses in the Bret Bielema era. In addition, Bielema has proven to be a good college trainer, and the record in Illinois has shown that this is a fact.

In 2025, Illinois continued the solid recruitment with class No. 44 in the country. While this is a good route, class 2026 has the potential to be something special.

The Illini currently has 247sports with the No. 7 class of the country for 2026. The unanimous top player in this group is Cornerback Victor Singleton.

Singleton is an elite talent and the recruitment pages would agree. While 247sports Singleton has No. 46 players in the 2026 class and as No. 3 Cornerback in the nation, a website like on3.com arrives.

On3.com published updated rankings for the Cornerback position on Wednesday. They published their top 10 cornerbacks, and Singleton registered on list No. 6. They also have it as No. 56 players in the 2026 class.

Illinois Football is an evil defense in the near future

When Bielema arrived on site for the first time, Illinois had some players who could play well. Bielema and his team of coaches helped develop this talent into some of the top defensive backs in the NFL.

The crazy part of this NFL -draft picks and the success is that these players have not been rated high. They were sub-1,000 recruits and in some cases they were two-star players.

Bielema did not have a first -class defensive in the program directly from the High School. Singleton is one of the best players in the country, and with the way Bielema can develop players, there is no doubt that he can become an all-American early in Illinois.

Singleton made a great choice when he came to Champaign. What we will see in the coming years is something special.
