Oscars watch parties planned in Philadelphia on Sunday

Philadelphia (WPVI) – The stars will be on the go for Hollywood's biggest night on Sunday, and many film fans in our area will watch the Oscars with style.

The Philadelphia Film Center expects around 200 people in their Oscars consideration party.

“Sunday will be a great night,” said Andrew Greenblatt, CEO and managing director of the Philadelphia Film Society.

The guests have the feeling of going a red carpet in the lobby with style in Hollywood.

“There is no comparison to watch something on a large screen with sound around them and cheer people,” said Greenblatt.

In the Muskatnutskammer Bar, on the 1800 Block of the E. Passyunk Avenue, the owner Brian Rothbart – inspired by his own love for films – organizes an Academy Awards Watch Party.

“I love films, I went to the film school,” said Rothbart.

While he always plays a film in the bar TV, Sunday is celebrated for the actors.

“We will celebrate some amazing art that we saw last year,” said Rothbart.

He will have some games for guests.

“We will have some prices for people who also guess the five best categories,” said Rothbart.

Many different drinks are served in the non -alcoholic bar.

“We will have bubbles in abundance. I have developed a few more diligent drinks,” said Rothbart.

Both venues say it is important to see other film lovers in the city.

“I know it is difficult not to see in the pajamas. I understand people love that and it's an entertaining way to see it, but this is a celebration,” said Greenblatt.

According to Greenblatt, tickets are still available for the Watch Party.
