2-day MSCS board retreat; The first meeting since Sup. Richmond's appointment

Memphis, tenn. (WMC) – For the members of the school authority of Memphis Shelby County, a two -day retreat of the board is underway.

The members of the MSCS board met on Friday at the teaching and learning academy in Midtown.

It is your first meeting of the Governance board since the interim superintendent Dr. Roderick Richmond from the board last month.

Governance meetings are intended to promote cooperation, overcome challenges, evaluate current practices and determine strategic priorities for the next 100 days and pave the way for a successful before school year.

The board plans to hold training every 90 days and hire a consultant to lead the governance process.

The two -day Board Retreat will be completed on March 1st at 2:15 p.m.
