New video of the incident of Westlake Road Rage recorded discussion, suspicious arrest

Westlake, Ohio (Woio) – Police and Witnesses share a new video, a Wednesday rage in the middle of the main traffic time near Detroit and Columbia Roads.

A driver, 23-year-old Joseph Anthony McCormack, was arrested, who was charged with serious bodily harm, resisted the arrest and tightened the threat.

Captain Gerald Vogel explains that the incident occurred last Wednesday in the middle of rush hour: “There are people everywhere, there are probably school buses, families who try to drive home or go out for dinner, so that this is a threat to the public in many ways.”

According to the Westlake police, the road breed began because McCormack, which was in his Ford F-150, interrupted another truck driver on the street.

“The guy who was cut off became angry and threw a water bottle on the other truck that escalated the entire situation,” said Captain Vogel.

New video from the intersection of Detroit and Columbia recorded how McCormack hits the other vehicle. This leads to a complete confrontation in which both men pull out their firearms.

“Now we have two people with weapons who shout each other and are obviously a very volatile situation,” said Captain Vogel.

The driver of the black truck finally withdraws from the scene while McCormack falls a nearby police officer.

During the conversation, the 23-year-old admits that he had a gun in the vehicle.

“When we had the testimonies who point out that he pointed out to someone, we had to take him into custody,” said Captain Vogel. “He didn't want to go into custody, so there was a bit of fight.”

While McCormack was arrested and accused, the captain also added the public prosecutor's office as to whether the other driver of the black pickup should also be exposed to charges: “Possibly an offense – counting disaster because he threw the water bottle. It is not a good idea to throw something on another vehicle. “

At the moment, the Westlake police are all reminiscent of keeping a flat head behind the steering wheel.

“There is no reason to escalate this into a physical argument,” said captain Vogel. “If someone follows you, we recommend that you come to the police station instead of taking the matter yourself.”
