Hindsdale Central Boys break the national high school record in the 200 Medley Relay

The FMC Natatorium in Westmont, Illinois, will welcome some of the best swimmers in the country for a Pro Swim Series meeting next week, but this week warm the best male swimmers of the state at the Illinois High School State Championship. At the first events of the Prelims on Friday, the boys of the Hindsdale Central High School swam a new national high school record in the 200 Medley relay.

The final begins on Saturday, March 1st at 11:00 a.m.

The team in the second year Luke Vatevsenior Josh Beysenior Henry Guoand junior Matthew Vatev Combined for a 1: 26.75. This shaved by 0.13 seconds after the old national public high school record in the event.

The old public school and the overall brand were 1: 26.88 in February 2022 by the famous Carmel High School in Indiana with a season of Sean Sullivan, Ryan Malicki, Olympian Aaron Shackelland Christopher Holmes. Previously, Carmel also stopped the public school with a 1: 27.94 of 2020, which also had an Olympian. Jake Mitchellon the relay.

The youngest member of Hindsdales relay, Sophomore Luke Vatev, was the heroic and opened the Race thirteenth better than the record line. He handed it over to US Junior National Teamers Josh Beywho expanded the edge before GUO and VATEV packed it onto the back half.

Bey has signed Indiana, who scored the five best places at the Big Ten Championships on Friday evening in Minneapolis. The back half of the Relais Guo and Matt Vatev are both swimming in Penn in autumn 2025 or in autumn 2026.

The independent high school record was carried out in 2014 by the Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee, with a season from relay Luke KaliszakPresent Dustin TynesPresent Sam MchughAnd Christian Selby.

Other preliminary results

Hindsdale Central took control of the meeting with the top seeds in all three relays. Matt Vatev, Beyon Suliga and Frankie Adamo combined for a 1: 21.82 in the 200 Free Relay.

All four members of the Hindsdale Central Record Setting Medley also recorded top seeds at individual events. Bey swam 1: 46.73 in 200 in and set him 0.28 seconds before Marmion in the second year Brayden capen (1: 47.01) and later also packed third place in the 100-breast strike (54.11) -0.

New trier Stuart Timmerman leads a close 50 free field, on which the top 8 were only spread by 0.38 seconds. He swam 20.41 and junior Aidan Kaplan qualified 2. in 20.42. Timmerman was also the second seed in the 100 breast swimming.
