Hinsdale Central 200 Medley Relay Team sets a new national record on the Swim Meet 2025 IHSA State

A new national record was set up on Friday, February 28, 2025, during the final for swimming and diving state 2025 IHSA boys in the FMC Natatorium in Westmont, Illinois.

The Medle relay by Henry Guo (Sr.), Matt Vatev (Jr.), Josh Bey (Sr.) and Luke Vatev (Sun.) completed the event in a time of 1: 26.75 to set up a new national high school recording.

The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) certifies the National High School Records and currently lists the Carmel High School (Carmel, Indiana) as a record holder with a time of 1: 26.88, which was set on February 26, 2022.

Hinsdale Central set the new national brand during the prelim round of the state swimming meeting and qualified for the final on Saturday, where you can fight for the state championship and possibly improve the record time on Friday.
