Dabo Swinney about new additions in spring practice

Clemson -Clemson Football took the field for the first time since the loss against Texas in the first round of College Football playoffs.

The Tigers went 10: 4 last season to win the ACC championship and end their three-year CFP-Dürre. They have gotten larger expectations for 2025 and, moreover, after they have kept several important starters, including quarterback Cade Klubnik, and added an abundance of players and employees to the program in this low season.

Trainer Dabo Swinney spoke about these important additions and much more than Clemson started his spring practice:

How Kevin Kelly, new trainers and transfers fit in Clemson Football

Clemson hired Kevin Kelly on February 7 as a director for playing and acquisition. He has more than 20 years of NFL experience as a talent.

Swinney said he has known Kelly for more than 12 years and consider him “one of the best” when it comes to evaluating the talent and the intangible players of a player. Kelly will work with Clemson General Manager Jordan Sorrells when recruiting and storing.

“This type was decision -makers at the highest level,” said Swinney.

Swinney also added the former coach of the North Carolina Wide Receivers Lonnie Galloway as an offensive analyst and former coach of East Carolina, Mike Houston, as a defensive analyst. Both have decades of experience and will be unpaid coaches for Clemson this season.

“It's nice to have good people at any time, but it's great to have free, good people,” said Swinney.

Clemson also added three transfers: Wide Receiver Tristan Smith, Defensive End Will Holdt and Line Backer Jeremiah Alexander. Swinney said her transition was “great” and no other than new newcomers.

Clemson football will experiment with the positions of some players

Swinney said that several players will try new positions this spring. Before that, he announced that the wide receiver Adam Randall will return to see if he could find his niche there.

Swinney announced that the Wide Receiver Misun Kelley will play in Cornerback, especially in Nickel. He recorded five catches for 27 yards with Clemson in two seasons. Swinney said the change would enable the team to evaluate it in a different position and see if it fits better there.

The close end of Markus Dixon will work as a defensive end this season. In his two seasons, he did not take off the offensive statistics at Clemson, and Swinney would like to see what a position will do for his career.

Dabo Swinney offers injury updates from Jay Haynes, Olsen Patt-Henry

Swinney announced that several players have to do with injuries: Jay Haynes, who tore his ACL at the ACC championship in December, has been eliminated for spring.

This eliminates him from the competition to trace Clemsons No. 1 this spring. Randall, Keith Adams Jr., Jarvis Green, David Eziomume and 2025 Signe Gideon Davidson will compete for this point.

The narrow end of Olsen Patt-Henry is currently on the road with a shoulder injury. It is expected to start at the narrow end after Jake Briningstool's authorization has expired. In his absence, Josh Sapp, Christian Bentancur and 2025 Logan Brooking will get more options in spring.

Other remarkable injuries are: defensive tackle Stephiylan Green (sports hernia surgery); Cornerback Jeadyn Lukus (shoulder); Offensive Lineman Walker Parks (shoulder); And offensive lineman Elyjah Thurmon (ankle).
