Isaiah Bond is not just running for the NFL scouting. He ensures that everyone watches. The Texas Wide Receiver went to Indianapolis, looked at the 4.21 second of Xavier Worthy last year and decided that it was his for the recording.

“I'll break the record tomorrow.” Bond said reporters on Friday. “I assume that I run 4.20 or possibly if I feel great, I could run a 4.1.”

Trust? Through the roof. Reality? Things are interesting here. Worthy hardly awarded John Ross' previous record of 4.22 seconds. Only four players in combination history have ever cracked 4.25 – Xavier worthy, John Ross, Kalon Barnes and Chris Johnson. Bond believes that he will be number five.

Isaiah Bond has always been quick, but a 4.20-second 40 yard fitting board is another level

Let us be clear – is that Bond is not new. He was a track star in the high school and won Georgia State Championships at 100 m (10.51 seconds) and 200 m (21.19). He was fast all his life and knows it.

“I was fastest all my life.” Said Bond. “So I will go out there and if the training fulfills the preparation, size is reached. I will only trust my training and organize a show. “

His best recorded 40 yard dash in training? 4.23 seconds. That is close. But Close does not break any records. And even if he has reached 4.20, there is a difference between running in controlled training conditions and running among the lights in the Lucas Oil Stadium.

Isaiah Bond is not a view in the first round, but a record run could change everything

At the moment, Isaiah Bond is not being projected as a selection in the first round. The Trible Report NFL Scouting Department rates it as the No. 9 recipient and the total view of No. 61, which means that it is probably a type in the second round. A record run? That could change the story.

Xavier Worthys 4.21-second dash last year made him a first choice in the first round and ended up in 28th place with the Kansas City Chiefs. He supported it in his rookie season – 638 reception sheets, six touchdowns as well as 104 rushing yards and three other points. He even put 157 yards and two touchdowns in the Super Bowl Lix loss of the chiefs against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Bond has no production of Worthy. After two seasons in Alabama, where he had 48 catches for 668 yards in 2023, he switched to Texas. His numbers fell 34 receptions for 540 YARDS, but he still had 15.9 yards per catch and put a career high with five touchdowns.

Texa's trainer Steve Sarkisian believes that Isaiah Bond has what it needs.

“Isaiah is a great threat. He is a guy who can take the top of the defense. “ Sarkisian said about the Up & Adams Podcast. “You can get the ball into its hands in short quarters and he can create explosive games. It was regrettable that this year he had the ankle injury that held him back in the second half of the season because he really had a good start. Both boys (Bond and former Texas who run back Jaydon Blue) will find a home in the NFL in which they will be an enrichment for their team. “

When Isaiah Bond really runs a 4.20-second 40 yard shot, his NFL-draft shares jumps up

Isaiah Bond has been in custody for some time. After Xavier Worthy set the record last year, Bond published “4.20 next year” On Instagram.

He didn't joke.

If he does it, he doesn't make it out of the second round. Maybe even the first. The NFL longs for speed, and Bond has it. But talking about 4.20 and actually reaching 4.20 are two very different things.

Saturday will say the truth.
