Hundreds of Broome County residents will flood the streets of Binghapon for the legendary Parade in St. Patrick's Day this week.

The mayor of the city of Binghamton, Jared Kraham, and the Hibernian Parade Committee of the Chairman of Broome County, Tom Kelly, announced on Thursday that the parade will start on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. and contain various pipe bands, dancers and floats.

The Hibernian Parade Committee from Broome County has been organizing the parade since 1967.

How 2025 Parade Day Binghamton will honor Firefighter

During the press conference on Thursday, Kraham Binghamton honored firefighter JR Gaudet, who was reacted to a fire in Main Street on February 12.

“As a mayor, when the parade takes place this year and the fire brigade is marching through the streets, I would like to make sure that every member of our community shows you support, shows our love, our commitment and you know, even though it was a very dark time – it was a very difficult time – this community has its back,” said Kraham. “You have been such an important part of St. Patrick's Parade for decades and this year I challenge our community to show the fire brigade, to show support and to show the fire brigade.”

When, where does the St. Patrick's Day Parade start in Binghawendon?

The parade in front of the St. Mary of the Assumption Church on the corner of Fayette and Court Street in the city center of Binghadon begins on Saturday. The parade will march along the Court Street and drive directly into the Main Street on the west side of Binghawton before it ends in the Edwards Street.

On the morning of the parade, an ancient Hibernian's fair takes place in St. Mary's at 11:30 a.m. After the fair, a funny run begins, which is organized by Confluence Running Company, at 12:50 p.m.

A Warehouse vehicle from Community Hunger Outreach will not collect perishable food and donations along the route of the parade before it begins. Four pipe bands with two local bands and two bands based in Philadelphia will appear in the parade.

Who is marching on the Parade Day 2025?

This year the Edward P. Maloney Memorial Pipe Band, the Celtic Pipes and Drums of Broome County and the police from Philadelphia and the Fire Pipe Band will take part in the Parade. Fan Favorite Avalon String Band will travel from Philadelphia for the first time since the Covid 19 pandemic. Kelly promises that the group will deliver a “very powerful, energetic” performance.

The parade for ostentaters for 2025 include Kathy Blodgett, member of the young division of Ladies, Mary Grace Keenan, as a grandmother of Erin and Binghamton Police Officer Seamus.

Kelly said that in the parade Irish dance groups, floating bodies, community and school organizations as well as police and fire brigade are also available. At the end of the parade, the post-parade party takes place from 1 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Seton Catholic Central High School, where pipe bands and Irish dancers will also occur.
