Man who was convicted of more than 37 years

A man was sentenced to 37.5 years in prison for a drive-by shootout, in which one person and two more were injured.

In December 2024, Jenup Stepen Chop, 20, murdered himself, according to the Attorney General in Minnesota, due to the second degree murder and two murder of attempted degrees.

On Friday, a district of the district in the Mäfer, who condemned CHOP for 297 months in prison, conducted a total of 37.5 years for the other number of attempted murder for the murder of Gumdel Gilo, a successive 153-month prison sentence for a murder, and a simultaneous prison sentence of 210 months.

In June 2023, Chop allegedly fired over 20 laps on a vehicle driven by Gilo, killed him and injured two other passengers.

Chop also fired several rounds against a witness on a motorcycle who followed the vehicle with Chop and his co -accused. The General Prosecutor's office said a co -accused was pending.

“In this extremely difficult time, my heart goes to the victims of Jenup Chop and their loved ones,” said Attorney General Keith Ellison. “I am very interested in the security of the people in Minnesota, and I will continue to work with law enforcement agencies and lawyers in the district in our state to pursue criminals that pose a danger to their with Minnesotan.”

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Correeshesion, the police authority of Austin, the office of the Sheriff of the Mower and the police of Albert Lea examined the incident.
