Extreme fire in North Carolina on Saturday

I would still give you recognition. Kelly. YES. We approach the spring baseball season just around the corner. Pretty soon here. In the next few months, the Dash, the Hopper, Rocker, all will start again in full swing on the college baseball. We still have basketball. A few days get warmer. Our sunset comes later. Almost 20 days until the official spring. Today is the first day in March and we have a nice sunrise to start the month. To this morning it is pretty mild outside. 46 in Winston-Salem. This southwestern breeze, which will help to kill a hit. Homerun also helps to heat our temperatures a little. We currently have a few upper 30s and 40s on the map up to 47 in Asheboro, 43 North Wilkesboro, but as cold as 28 in Martinsville. So a bit of a variety with our temperatures. But relatively speaking, it is pretty mild for this season this morning. Only a few clouds develop along the mountain range along the Blue Ridge. Our Big Weather Maker will be this cold front in Middle Tennessee, Ostkentucky and West Virginia today. Later this afternoon it will continue to slide south and east through Piedmont, as these winds will really pick up today. And how dry it has been lately increases our risk of fire, especially for forest fires. In fact, our risk today is in an extreme danger. In this way, forest fires can start and spread very easily under these conditions. In fact, the National Weather Service has published a red flag warning before these extreme fire hazard conditions, which is not published so often. So no burning piles or fire pits, such things. This weekend. Unfortunately, this risk of fire, this fire risk, the risk for now is too high if the front moves through a few additional clouds. Possible this afternoon, but today mainly warm and windy. The upper 1960s with about 20 to 30 miles per hour of wind gusts at temporarily low 60s in the foothills. This front previously moves in the mountains, so that they probably stay in the low 50s this afternoon. So the front brings the wind and a higher risk of fire, but it also brings colder air. We will go from 68 to 48 today. YES. So spring today, winter morning. This colder air will be a big return in the 20s on Sunday morning and on Monday morning. So. So if you like the warmer weather, your day is colder today. Regardless of whether you are a fan of winter, it will be tomorrow on Sunday and Sunday. But at least we are dry this weekend, right? We have a lot of sunshine. We will also be dry by Monday and Tuesday. Our next rains really don't come late Tuesday and Wednesday, but it looks like one of these large, strong spring storm systems in front of a strong cold front that could take a risk for some thunderstorms next week. So it will also be a weather on the weather. A lot of time to observe this part of the forecast. We will keep you up to date. But for the time being no burning this weekend.
