Steve Rosenberg in St. David's Day Duett with C4S Ciaran Jenkins

“There are so many dramatic news, so much bad news in the world that it is so nice to just cancel it for a moment and do something nice,” says Steve Rosenberg, editor of BBC Russia.

He marked the St. David's Day with the recording of a Love song “Myfanwy” with cellist and channel 4 news moderator Ciaran Jenkins.

With both journalists who are individually known online for sharing musical services, this led to a suggestion that they should work together, Rosenberg said to BBC Radio Wales Breakfast.

They opted for Myfanwy because it is a famous Welsh song by Joseph Parry, who was born in Merthyr Tydfil in 1841, who is also Jenkins' hometown.

He said Parry's music had “this real support in me all my life” and he regularly lived in the city of Parry's former home.

Jenkins said he was “so pleased” to share it on St. David's Day.

And he continued that he hoped that he and Rosenberg could finally meet their collaboration after the virtual cooperation.
