A political storm broke out after the body of an unidentified woman was stuffed in a suitcase near the sample bus stand in Rohtak, Haryana. The police were alerted on Friday and an investigation was initiated immediately.
The case took a turn after the MLA BHushan Batra congress claimed that the deceased was Himani Narwal, a congress worker who was involved in Rahul Gandhis Bharat Jodo Yatra, and worked closely with Bhupinder Hooda and Deepinder Hooda during the elections.
Forensic teams found that the deceased was a young woman between 20 and 22 years old. She was found on her hands with a scarf around her neck and Meendi. The SHO Bijendra Singh sample station explained that preliminary evidence indicates murder points, with the body being abandoned on the side of the road.
“We have received information that a body was found in a suitcase on the highway, and we are investigating this matter. It seems that this girl has been murdered and her body has been thrown here, we examine the rest and further measures after registration of a case.
The President of the Haryana Congress, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, condemned the incident and called him a strong failure of law and order in the state.
“The news of the barbaric murder of the active congress worker Himani Narwal in Rohtak is extremely sad and shocking. I pay my homage to the late soul and express my deepest condolence to my family members. The murder of a girl in this way and finding her body in a suitcase is extremely sad and shocking.
“There should be an impartial examination of this murder on a high level, and the government should do justice to the victim's family as soon as possible and give the culprit the hardest punishment,” he added.
