Mount Pleasant Police discovers a body in pond, continuous death examinations

Mount Pleasant, SC (toilet) – The Mount Pleasant police authority takes over a death examination after finding a body in a pond.

The officers answered a report about a vehicle in a pond on the 400 block of the Wando Park Boulevard on Saturday at around 2:35 a.m.

Sgt. Robert Blaschke said members of the SWIFT Water team at Berg Pleasant Police Department entered the water to ensure that the vehicle was not occupied.

The vehicle sank too quickly and the water was too cloudy to ensure that the officials were able to ensure that the Charleston County's sheriff reacted to the scene.

They support the drag company in securing the towline so that the vehicle could be removed from the pond.

The officials tried to locate and identify residents from the vehicle, but were unsuccessful.

However, there was indications that an inmate of the pond and the area left. K9 officers then carried out a trace of the pond to locate the possible occupant that left the area.

The route went down the Wando Park Boulevard, but continued to lose the street.

At around 12:09 p.m. someone called the police to report their family member and received information that they were probably out of the vehicle.

The diving team of the Charleston County sheriff was then called back to find the missing inmate.

The detectives of the Mount Pleasant Police Department, the crime scene and the office of the forensic doctor also reacted to the scene.

They found a male body that was found in the pond around 3:55 p.m.

The Coroner's Office of the Charleston County has not published the names of the inmate.
