Israel supports the US plan for temporary Gaza ceasefire via Ramadan and Pessach

Israel will take over the proposal of the Messenger Donald Trump, Steve Witkoff, for a temporary ceasefire in Gaza for the Ramadan and Passion period.

On the first day of Witkoff's proposal, half of the hostages in Gaza, both alive and dead, are released, said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office and added that the remaining hostages are also released after a permanent armistice was agreed.

Witkoff made the suggestion to extend the current ceasefire after more time was needed for discussions about a permanent ceasefire, Netanyahus office added.

Hazem Qassem, spokesman for Hamas, said on Saturday before that the group rejected Israel's “wording” to expand the first phase of the ceasefire in Gaza Strip, but did not expressly mentioned Witkoff's plan.

Netanyahu's office said Israel would immediately negotiate Witkoff's plan if Hamas would agree to him.
