No. 4 USC against No. 2 UCLA: Live updates, start time and more

Bruin's rally, Trojaner hold 13 points ahead of the fourth quarter

What seemed to be developing as a further UCLA over-control in the third quarter was defused by an impressive USC switch to end the third quarter that put it on a 64-51 advantage.

After the bruins fell back into the second half with 16 points, the bruins moved away and pulled within 55-51 with 3:02 in the period. But the Trojans answered with seven straight points, including a free throw and driving, which forced the UCLA to take 38 seconds in the quarter. Kiki Irials ended the hits of the period with a sweater jumper in eight seconds before the end.

In the first session, the Bruins exposed themselves to the Trojans with 17: 9 to achieve a five-point advantage into the end time. And for most of the quarter in this game, it was in a similar way when USC became goalless for over four minutes while the UCLA collected.

But this time the Trojans had an answer.

Juju Watkins is 28 points for 10-of-19 shoots.

All five USC starters have at least three fouls: Watkins, Irafen and Rayah Marshall with three, and Talia von Oelhffen and Kennedy Smith have four.

UCLA tries to steal into the game again, but USC maintains the breath

USC has an advantage of 55-46 with 4:50 in the third quarter. Kiki Rice and Londyn Jones each have five points to help the Bruins remove with a 14-point half-time deficit.

Foul difficulties are still a problem for the Trojans when Talia von Oelhffen took their fourth foul and Rayah Marshall their third.

Juju Watkins on his part is 25 points after the start of the quarter after making a long jumper.

Trojans take the 14-point half-time in the lead, while Juju Watkins stays hot on the offensive

The UCLA covered three times in the entire season. Two of them were the hands of the USC.

The Trojans rode the hot hand of Juju Watkins and a strong defensive game in order to bring half -time in front of the bruins in the Pauley Pavilion.

Watkins shot eight out of 13 from the field and four out of seven from the three-point range to take half of the USC points into account.

The Trojans also scored 17 points of 11 bruins sales to transform a three-point game into the greatest lead of the game for USC at the beginning of the second quarter.

The UCLA received eight points from Janiah Barker and Gabriela Jaquez added six. Lauren Betts was recorded on four points at the two-vom-Six shoot and a team high gymnastics.

What is observed in the second half after USC: Kiki Irafen and Talia von Oelhffen each have three fouls, and Kennedy Smith and Rayah Marshall each have two. These are four of the Trojans who have five starts.

USC is expanding the advantage if the Trojans jump out quickly at the beginning of the second quarter

The Trojans almost duplicated the quick start in the second quarter with an 11:4 outbreak to open an advantage of 34-24 in the first half, which forced a break from the Bruins coach Cori Close in the first half.

Something that can endure to pay attention to USC: Kiki Irafen, who had celebrated two fouls in the first quarter, won her third with 8:40 in the second quarter.

Bruins close the gap, but Juju Watkins holds the Trojans ahead

After missing their first eight recordings of the game and remaining after two -digit figures at an early stage, the Bruins answered.

The UCLA was insulted by Lauren Betts, Janiah Barker and Timea Gardiner to pull after a quarter in the Pauley Pavilion within 23 to 20. Angela Dugalic's three-pointer with 35 seconds a quarter made it a three-point game.

Juju Watkins already has 13 points with five out of eight shootings, including three out of five shootings from three-point range.

Trojans jump out quickly, Bruin's fighting off the field

With 4:59, the Trojans exposed an advantage of 15: 4 in the first quarter, as some known names bear the offensive load.

Juju Watkins already has seven points on 3-of-4 shootings from the field, and Talia von Oelhffen had a four-point game.

The Trojans scored the first nine points of the game when the Bruins started to miss eight of their first 10 shots. They only achieved their first basket in the quarter with a make -up jumper by Janiah Barker.

When Lindsay Gottlieb was stopped at USC in May 2021, her first call to Rayah Marshall went. At that time she stood in her kitchen in Ohio and was unsure when Marshall, then an all-American McDonald's All-American, were even considered to honor the commitment to the former U.S.

After all, Gottlieb didn't have much tangible to sell them. She had spent the last three seasons in the NBA, while USC, once a women's basketball power package for women, had spent in relative darkness in the past three decades. All that Gottlieb had to show was Marshall a vision of what could be USC.
