Some residents of Carolina Forest were allowed to return home

A large fire threatens houses in Carolina Forest.

According to Horry County Fire Rescue, officials evacuated the reserve area of the district of Walkers Woods and the Avalon district in Carolina Forest due to active forest fires.

From 7:30 p.m., residents of the Tuckahoe Road and the Wyandot Court can return home, but a large part of the rest of Walkers Woods and Avalon remains evacuated.

The scene is active and the crews are working to curb the fire. The local authorities and the South Carolina Forestry Commission (SCFC) are on site.

The SCFC arrived with heavy machines that were used to delete brushes and rubble.

Some neighbors in the Walkers area reported that fences and yards were damaged by surveillance cameras in their houses.

According to Mike Owen from ABC15, some residents remain in areas that were not evacuated by changing pets and observe the smoke in the sky.

He said that the sun in heaven, where the fire burns, remains a red haze in the sky.

Evacuated who need a place to go can drive to the Carolina Forest Recreation Center in the 2254 Carolina Forest Boulevard.

All other residents should make it clear to leave the streets open to first aiders.

The district government has closed the International Drive between Highway 90 and the International Drive Schools to facilitate the reaction to Carolina Forest's forest fire. This closure is effective until further attention.

Firefighters on site turn in the scene in and from active work.

Volunteers in the Carolina Forest Community Church offer first aiders while they continue to work.
