Tai Baribo drives the Philadelphia Union with the landmark of the season.

Chester, pa. – to a breathtaking start.

After the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs had been missed for the first time since 2017, the Philadelphia Union provided another statement that FC Cincinnati made 4: 1 in front of a sold out Subaru Park audience in its Home Opener 2025 Downing.

Just like the 4-2 victory of Matchday 1 in Orlando City SC, the Tai Baribo union was powered. The most formulated striker of the league followed the brackets of the past week with a hat trick, while the club record Bruno Damiani opened his goal account in order to round off another convincing result.

Head wire victory

In two games, the new head coach Bradley Carnell and his employees have not shot so softly waves over MLS with two wins.

“I guess the ball in the back of the network, and that's the most important thing,” said Carnell after the game. “The transition game model is our DNA, and if we do it right, there is a lot of fluidity, many connections, a lot of synchronization with the ball.”

In two games, Carnell's squad was impressed by eight goals that were achieved from Open Play, five of which came from Baribo, who after a 2024 season in which he scored 16 goals in all competitions in all competitions.

“The players include the competition. Everyone will win at the end of the day if we push each other away when we continue to train as we do, ”said Carnell.

“Everyone will be a Victor Come Matchday 34 (decision day).”

Baribos magical start

The man who drives this hot start is the same, who spent most of the last season under the former boss Jim Curtin on the bench. But with the departure of Julián Carranza to Eredivisie Side Feyenoord, Baribo has finally got his chance – and he makes the best of it and scores goals in bundle.

“Last season we believed in ourselves … (Bradley's) ideas, his philosophy of football … we are really a unit, we fight for each other, we press together and this is the recipe to be successful,” said Baribo.

The Israeli international is just the fourth player in the MLS story, who scored five goals in his first two games and Javier “Chicharito” Hernández (2021), Ayo Akinola (2020) and Brian Ching (2006) – Elite Company to part of the company. His self -confidence was a driving force behind this series.

“It is certainly trust, but it is confidence that you get from my teammates from my teammates,” said Baribo.

Home debut

With a new trainer, a number of incoming obligations came to mark the transition to the new era of the Union. The home regulations included 19-year-old local defenders Frankie Westfield, Serbian midfielder Jovan Lukić-a transfer by FK Spartak Subotica-and Damiani, who scored his first goal for the union in the dying moments of the game.
