Fire Crews Battle 2-Alarm Fire in Winchester, nobody hurt

At this point? Well, Isabel, almost all crews have gone here. And the street here, the Keene Road, opened on the traffic after several time. Winchester's fire chief tells us that there were seven people in this building when this fire happened. When this 911 call was made, he tells us that he does not believe that smoke detectors worked in the apartment. In fact, he says it is the neighbors of the next doors who have told the tenants in this building that the house is on fire. He says the fire was mainly on the second floor of the building and then climbed to the third floor. Reach these two alarms. He says that there were about seven cities from New Hampshire and Massachusetts here and worked on putting these crazy flames that they are currently seeing on their screen. He tells us again that there were no working smoke detectors in the house and that the people inside were informed about the flames by their neighbors. He says that this fire lasted about an hour and 30 minutes and that there were two firefighters on site that were currently investigating the cause. You don't know what this fire has caused. I asked him what the greatest obstacles and challenges were to maintain these flames. It was the wind that made it particularly difficult for the responders to control things. He says there are a few pets, a few cats. Sorry that I have not been taken into account and that some pets with whom we actually spoke here have been given some pets. A dog and a lizard, they told me that they were asked. They were asked to keep them warm and safe, while firefighters took care of the fire. But I would like to come to this interview that I did with the neighbors next door about what they saw before. Listen to. I look right there from my window between these trees and can see how a fire gets out of the window. We sit outside. You can hardly see it through these two chimneys. And then from the back window over there. WOW. Yes, it was crazy. It was just a lot of smoke. Lots of fire. Yes, it was definitely something I have never experienced. And so these two people tell me that so much smoke just came out of the house and piled up on the street here that they couldn't even see one of the street here. They also tell me that this is the main street between Winchester and Keene. For a while, all cars that tried to get through the police and they had to be diverted. So that was definitely the community that was affected here. The fire chief tells me that the Red Cross was called and that all people in the house will be sold this evening. But again no injuries. No cause yet. We will keep you all up to date with further information while we learn about it in the morning.
