The Fedex aircraft catches fire after the bird strike and makes the emergency landing in us

A FEDEX freight plane had to make an emergency landing at the Newark Liberty International Airport on Saturday morning after it had caught shortly after the start.

The Boeing 767-3S2F started around 8 a.m., but only a few minutes later flames broke out of the right engine. Dramatic film material showed that the plane ran back to the asphalt when fire spoke out of the wing when emergency crews hurried out.

According to the port authority of New York and New Jersey, the aircraft certainly landed at 8:07 a.m. No injuries were reported and three people were on board, reported Press.

The port authority of New York and New Jersey, together with Fedex, attributed the sudden ignition to a bird that met the plane. “Fedex Flight 3609 from Newark to Indianapolis experienced a bird strike during the start. Our crew explained an emergency and certainly returned to Newark. We are grateful for the fast actions of our crew and first aiders,” said a Fedex spokesman for NY Post.

A LiveATC recording recorded the dramatic exchange between the flight crew and air traffic control. “Tower, Fedex 3609 – yes, right -wing engine was closed for a possible bird strike. We have to return to the airport,” says a crew member. Shortly thereafter, another person reported what the “engine of the aircraft looked like from the right wing”, NBC News reported.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has initiated an investigation of the incident. The plane was inspected and clarified to continue his trip to Indianapolis at 9:30 a.m.

“Video from the incident shows the rapidly thinking pilots who return the plane safely to land safely while the engine is on fire,” the transport secretary Sean Duffy told Reuters.

As a precaution, air traffic in Newark was stopped, but was quickly resumed.

The concerns about air safety were further reinforced by the fatal crash of the last month over the Potomac river, where a Black Hawk helicopter collided in the middle of the air with a trade plane and killed all 67 passengers.
