Extremely dangerous fire conditions in the morning, evacuations in progress

Myrtle Beach, SC (WMBF) – A forest fire in the Carolina Forest Area continues to burn people to evacuate. Look at wind conditions to die when we go to the afternoon.

The brand size has grown to 600 hectares because the crews continue to fight against the fire, according to the South Carolina Forestry Commission.

The National Weather Service has extended the red flag warning until 6 a.m. The winds are seen from the north of 10 to 20 miles per hour with gusts of wind from 20 to 30 miles per hour. This leads to a shift in the fire, which can be a danger to structures.

Several fires are currently burning in our viewing area and throughout the state.

TODAY

A cold front moved through during the night and shifted the wind from the north. We will still see strong winds this morning, but the latest data continues to suggest that the winds will weaken when they climb into the afternoon.

Since the winds have now shifted from the north, this has created a shift in the fire. We will continue to keep you up to date via the WMBF News app about the latest information in the morning.

The primary wind threat will be in the morning. Wind gusts through the afternoon will weaken. To this afternoon, wind gusts will be 10 to 15 miles per hour and the evening will fall under 10 miles per hour.

Today's temperatures will be much cooler and we will only climb on the low 50s. This can help the crews because it can help to slow the spread of the fire because there will be a little more moisture. The air humidity will also increase during the day.
