American Airlines flights will start getting in 5 minutes in May in May

American Airlines continues to optimize its boarding process with the aim of increasing more efficiently on the plane-and less likely so that the passengers have to check their hand luggage bags.

From May 1st, the airline will add five minutes to the total bordley time for all flights.

Five minutes does not seem to be much, but the spokesman for American Airlines, Rachel Warner, says: “This additional time will offer customers a smoother boarding experience by enabling breaks between boarding groups, alleviating traffic jet on the Jet bridge and stowing their bags and setting up before departure.”

“In addition, American's Gate Agents and flight attendants have more time to do their precedes and offer our customers a personalized service,” added Warner. “Flight attendants and gate agents have more time to monitor and confirm when overhead waste buckets are full, which contributes to reducing the number of involuntary pockets when a trash can still be available.”

Boarding begins 35 minutes before departure (from 30 minutes) on flights operated by Airbus A319 and A320 Aircrafts, and 40 minutes before departure on flights that are operated by Boeing 737, Airbus A321 and all Widebody Aircraft in American's Fleet as soon as the change is implemented.

Warner said that American is planning to continue to innovate his boarding process, and the change in the boarding period will be introduced in autumn new technology to ensure the board of Travelers with its assigned group.

From November, more than 100 airports served by American had technology that alarmed the gate agents when someone tried to cut the line and board early, and the airline said that the customer feedback was largely positive.
