Punjab's heart: Experiment in school education to achieve the desired result

All experiments in the schooling of successive governments in Punjab In the past two decades, have not managed to create a blueprint for a comprehensive improvement model in more than 19,000 state schools.

Former Prime Minister Parkash Singh Badal introduced the Adarsh schools in the public-private partnership (PPP) mode during the SHIROMERI Akali Dal-BJP from 2007-17.

An Adarsh School for “Poor and Brilliant Students” should be set up in a ratio of 70:30 as part of the public-private partnership in every block of Punjab.

The previous congress government under Amarinder Singh turned activity -based learning upside down under the initiative “Padho Punjab, Padhao Punjab”. It aimed to improve the basic reading and learning results, especially at the pre-primary level.

The current government is working on converting 100 primary schools of primary schools in “Glücksschulen” and 100 high -ranking secondary schools in “brilliant schools”.

However, there was no visible change on the ground.

Punjab still lacks its own education policy. It is even more important that earlier programs have not given a rating. All initiatives lose their shine as soon as a new government comes to power.

The Adarsh schools showed no continuity in previous innovations and met a rough weather because the private sector did not come out to support the program.

The government project for the training of teachers for the “Padho Punjab, Padao Punjab” program lost its relevance when the congress in the 2022 survey lost power.

The current government sends the teachers to Finland and the school heads to Singapore. This showed that teacher training was out of date.

It is expected to teach colleagues as soon as they return from abroad.

However, there cannot be lessons without a teacher. Many primary schools work with only one teacher who performs the impossible task of treating five different classes at the same time.

In fact, there are certain schools that do not even have a single teacher and classes are managed with the employees in relation to the deputation of other schools.

Up to 810 of the 1,723 high schools have no headmaster, while 855 of 1,927 secondary schools work without headmaster. Another occasion for concern is the need for computer education.

In times of advanced research in artificial intelligence, state schools in Punjab offer outdated courses with ancient infrastructure. Many schools even have a single functioning computer.

The training of the girl is most affected. Surveys have shown that parents from poorer parts of society regarded education as a luxury. They preferred to send their children to work at a young age.

The annual status of the educational report (ASER) -2024 revealed the soil reality in detail. At least 17 percent of class I students could not see the figures from 1 to 9. At least 39.6 percent of class V and 51.2 percent of class V students had to struggle with the department. Only 76.7 percent of class VII students were able to read a text in class II level.
