Major case in Montgomery County. The investigation includes the location in Plymouth Meeting

The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Public Health announced on March 2 that it examined a confirmed case of measles in a child in Montgomery County, which was not vaccinated. The investigation includes a location in the Plymouth meeting (see below).

The district's investigators complete the contact tracking in coordination with the health systems below and the child's guards. Those who have been assumed that they have been exposed are currently contacted and informed about a possible exposure to measles and evaluated the vaccination status and the risk of infection.

The following places were visited by the child with a confirmed measles case during their time of infection. People who were at one of these locations during the specified periods may have been exposed.

The district announced that “the measles virus can remain in the air and surfaces up to two hours after leaving an infected person. If someone inhales the contaminated air or touched an infected surface and then touches your eyes, nose or mouth, you can get infected. “

Measles is a noticeable disease in Pennsylvania. If you suspect that you or your child have measles and want to take care of a care, please call your health service provider, your emergency or hospital emergency recording before you leave the house, or contact the public health office at 610.278.5117 to make a safe visit and reduce exposure to employees and other patients. The health service providers should immediately report alleged cases of measles to OPH under 610.278,5117 or 610,635,4300 after hours.

Individuals will be immune Measles if one of the following applies:

  • They were born in 1957 or earlier.
  • They had 2 doses of measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) vaccine.
  • They had measles diseases.

The following groups of people are potentially susceptible to measles:

  • Infants who are too young to be immunized (less than a year in old age).
  • Children who are only partially vaccinated (less than 6 years old).
  • People who were vaccinated with an inactivated or unknown vaccine type, which was used from 1963 to 1967 and was not revised.
  • Some people born after 1957 who only received a dose of vaccine.
  • Those who rejected the vaccination
  • Those from the areas of the world where there is a low vaccine cover or currently mixed measles.
  • Immunkompromis persons such as organ transplant recipients, patients who receive chemotherapy and live people with HIV/AIDS.

People who meet the above -mentioned criteria or cannot check their immune status should consult the best way to protect themselves from measles with their primary health service provider.
