“I don't think Call will ever end the midwife,” she said. “But I think we could take a break at some point.”

Thomas then continued that she was “unable to talk about things” and added: “There is a kind of rolling, continuous conversation that we always have every year at this time.

Interestingly, she also discussed the expansion of the world of the show.

“So if we take a break, it will look at other aspects of the midwife,” she added.

But at the moment we have another season that we can look forward to.
