We spoke this winter, we have to get the consistency back what my strength was in Indycar – solid drives, no mistakes, good results, and I think we felt again on the normal mark this weekend.

At the beginning of this week, Indycar Insider Bob Pockrass Marcus Ericsson described Indycar Championship Battle against defending champion Alex Palou in 2025. It was important that Marcus Ericsson started with a high note with the IndyCar season 2025. In 2024, the Swedish driver took the 15th place in the overall ranking with Andretti Global, a dark low, after three consecutive years in the sixth with chip ganassi racing.

In practice 1 in St. Petersburg on Friday, No. 28 driver took fifth place. He improved the result in training unit 2 on Saturday morning as the fastest driver of 27. Ericsson applied his form later on Saturday in the qualification to secure P7 on Saturday, a position of his qualification result from 2024 on the bumpy 1.8 mile street Circuit.

In 2024 Marcus Ericsson suffered a mechanical problem in his No. 28 Honda in St. Pete and ended his race in the middle of the 52-round mark. This time, however, there was no bad luck. His No. 28 team delivered well during the pit stops to ensure smooth sailing for a P6 finish.
