Fire collapses the roof of the St. Paul Flooring Store

The roof of a floor covering in St. Paul collapsed on Sunday afternoon after a fire had torn through the building.

The crews answered a fire shortly after 1 p.m. in the 315 Atwater St., said Jamie Smith, deputy head of the St. Paul fire brigade. No injuries were reported, he added.

The address is listed as a place of the Fulton flooring.

In the early afternoon, Smith said that the firefighters continued to work to extinguish the flames on the outside of the building.

“We are in the defense strategy, which means that firefighters do not commit themselves to the interior if they have control over the fire from the outside,” said Smith, adding that an investigation begins when the fire is included.

No details about the cause of the fire were available.

At 2:30 p.m., the fire brigade stopped on X that the majority of the fire was no longer and checked the crews according to Hot Spots. The city's Ministry of Security and Inspections demolished the building.
