The Southern University picks up the lock; Investigation of walking on campus shooting

Baton Rouge, La. (WAFB) – The police authority of Southern University examines for a shootout in one of his residential halls on Sunday, March 2,.

According to officials, the shootout occurred in the US Jones Hall around 7 p.m. For security reasons, university officials put the campus in the Lockdown. Since then, they have lifted the lock and said that there is no threat to the campus.

Officials described the possible shooters as a black hoodie with rhinestones and dark pants.

The university alerted the students of the incident shortly before 7:30 p.m. and asked them to stay in their dormitories while he was locked up.

A student of Southern University reported that a single shot on the second floor of the Jones Hall went out – a hall in which the police then blocked the entry.

“After that it was a complete silence and then they heard several fire and first aiders, sirens and things of this kind,” he said. “And then we got the announcement that Jones Hall was in the closure. Nobody leaves his room. ”

The condition of the victim is unknown at this point. It is unclear whether this person is a student.
