Olmscheid says this retelling of The wizard of OZ Last year was back on Broadway and added for the first time since the original production of 1975: “It was won with the Tony Award when it was originally on Broadway for the best musical, and this new production is for a new era and a new day.”

The magic saw a Broadway resolutions in 2024.

In January 2026 the musical will be based on the film Back to the future. Olmscheid reminds us of the film, but not a musical, but some hits.

“There are all the elements that you want, including of course Delorean, which flies in the end … and by flying, ie on a small, tiny stage with 88 miles per hour!” he said. “It is really a recreation of the film.”

Another best musical Tony Award winner, Kimberly Akimbowill be in the Wharton Center in March 2026.

“It is about 16-year-old Kimberly who moves into a new community and faces the challenges of a dysfunctional family and a really rare medical illness. It is a really nice young person to find the life story.”

Olmscheid continues to dedicate a slot to a non-musical in every season. This time it is the comedy Notice Come in April next year. The show is based on the mysterious board game and the film of the same name.

“There are several endings that are woven into the script itself, so it is not as if you had a different end than the second night,” said Olmscheid. “Like the film in which you can get a few false endings or maybe this could have happened, there is also a similar theatrical in the play.”
