March trout blast for the Southeast region region

Here you will find a short summary of what you need to know about some of these funny fisheries!

  • American Falls Reservoir – 18,000 rainbow trout. At 55,000 acres this body of water is the largest of Idahos Snake River Reservoirs! Due to its variety of bays, inserts and bays along the coast, it offers a fishing experience that resembles smaller waters that anglers can enjoy in small watercraft. In addition to rainbow trout, anglers can fish after brown, cutthroats, black bark, trout strap and yellow. The city of American Falls is located at the southwestern end of the reservoir, where several boat starts and fuel are also available. There are also services and a boat start near Aberdeen, in the middle of the reservoir on the Westside. Camping is available in Massacre Rocks State Park as well as several private motorhome parks and campsites on or near the reservoir.
  • Bannock reservoir – 500 rainbow trout. This Community Park is located in the Portneuf Wellness Complex Park near the County Fairground in Pocatello and offers trout fishing with many leisure information nearby. The six hectare pond is surrounded by playgrounds, soccer fields, basketball courts, running and bike paths and an amphitheater for community events. Several docks offer access to fishing around the pond.
  • Bear river – 2, 250 rainbow trout. These fish are equipped in the very scenic onida enlargement of the river below the dam. This popular section of the river offers the longest uninterrupted public access along the entire bear flow. Another 500 rainbow will be equipped under Alexander Dam.
  • Crystal Springs Pond – 1,000 rainbow trout. This spring fed pond is always clear and cool! This family -friendly pond is located near Springfield and has a paved hiking trail and docks for easy access to fishing.
  • Edson Fichter Pond – 950 rainbow trout. This 3 hectare pond is just a few minutes from the city center of Pocatello and offers local anglers of all ages a comfortable escape near home. In the 40 hectare Edson Fichter Nature area, this pond is several docks and a way to access around the pond. Your dog is welcome to be your fishing buddy – if you are placed on the pond and on the paths on the lines. However, if you have to cool off or want to practice your collection skills, there is a “puppy pond” that was only built for you on the same property.

The stocking of all water is temporarily and dependent on the conditions of river/lake/pond (fishing safety concerns); The data can change due to weather or personnel restrictions.
