Desoto's MPs examine the murder in Arcadia

Arcadia, Florida – The Sheriff's office of the Desoto County examines a murder that took place in Arcadia on Sunday afternoon.

Desoto County MP who examine the murder in Arcadia

The MPs reacted to the scene directly on State Road 17 and Martin Luther King Jr. Street, where they found a person who had been stabbed. The victim was declared dead at the crime scene. Almost two dozen evidence markers were set up in a property with a parked bus. The location is located next to a busy flea market where another murder occurred a little more than a year ago.

Shortly afterwards, Cirilo Molina-Lopez returned to the scene and was arrested. He was taken to Desoto County's prison and charged with murder.

Sheriff Jim Potter said this was an isolated incident between the people involved and assured that the community does not give a continuing threat. The examination remains active and the civil servants will provide updates as soon as further information is available.
