Kroger CEO resigns after the examination: NPR

Rodney McMullen, CEO von Kroger, has resigned after the company board examined its “personal behavior” and found that it corresponds to its corporate ethics code.

It is an abrupt leadership in the country's largest supermarket chain, with little detail being shared, which was exactly leading.

Kroger said on Monday that on February 21, his board found out of “certain personal behavior” a little more than a week ago. The company said that an investigation by the external lawyer found that the behavior “is not related to the business” and that no Kroger workers involve, but still “does not match Kroger's policy on business ethics”.

Most recently, McMullen Kroger's unsuccessful attempt to buy the second largest supermarket chain, Albertsons. The historic food mega-merger faced the opposition to the cartel officials of the bidges and several attorney in General.

After more than two years of attempt, the agreement died in December after the companies were unable to convince several courts that they should merge to take over larger rivals such as Walmart. Albertsons gave up the merger and immediately sued Kroger.

McMullen had managed Kroger as a CEO since 2014. He came to Kroger in 1978 as a part-time stack. He had previously worked for over a decade Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer and Board Director.

Kroger is now looking for a new CEO. Ron Sargent – Kroger's main director and former CEO von Staples – has currently appointed interim managing director.

In its statement, the company announced that it would like to hold a call on Thursday to announce its quarterly profits and instructions for the coming year.
